FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How does it work?
    We will need to know your weight, height, age, gender and your activity levels. Then we will calculate your estimated energy requirements and assign you a calorie-controlled meal plan. The plan will consist of 3 daily recipes for breakfast and lunch, which are based on single serves, plus your dinner recipes which serve four people. There are also daily extras, which consist of snacks, alcohol (if you wish to have a drink) and also some treat foods too, should you feel you require these. The daily extra are included within your calorie requirements but not essential for you to have every day if you don’t want. If after a few months of following the plan, you are not seeing the results you are after e.g. weight loss, if that is your goal - get in touch, we can always adjust the calories in your plan.
  • What do I get with my membership?
    While you are a paid member, you will have access to the weekly meal plans with 15 new recipes every week - 5 recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for 5 days of the week. These will be available on the website on Friday nights, so that you can shop for the week ahead. You can even save your favourite recipes for easy reference. You will also get the option of having email support from a NZ registered dietitian.
  • How much does a Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner…Sorted! membership cost?
    $40 per month. No contract, cancel anytime.
  • How do calorie controlled diets work?
    Calorie controlled meal plans are not an exact science, therefore there may be some discrepancies between each meal plan and they’re not exactly at 1500kcal/ 1800kcal or 2200kcal each day, but they will be within the ball park figure of the plan. Ideally, to be realistic with weight loss, these plans should generate approximately 10% weight loss within a 3-6 month period, however this does depend on your commitment to the plan, activity levels, behaviours with food or environmental factors. We know the evidence behind losing 10% weight loss alone are incredibly beneficial to long term health.
  • Am I guaranteed to lose weight?
    This depends on how closely you follow the meal plan. We know you are a human being and sometimes we make mistakes and fall off track, this will be inevitable. What makes this plan successful is if you can get back on track if you fall off track and if you are following the plan 90% of the time then you will likely get some weight loss in return, if you don’t you maybe need to address other factors such as increasing activity levels to tolerance or behaviours with food or environmental factors.
  • Are the recipes provided affordable and easy to make?
    Yes, we keep our recipes simple to prepare and very cost effective. We try to limit the amount of specialised ingredients that may only be needed for one recipe, or in small quantities, in order to keep things as simple and affordable as possible.
  • What kind of meals are they?
    We like to follow healthy eating guidelines, so all our meals are based around a balance of the four main food groups, carbohydrate, protein, dairy, fruit and vegetables. Ingredient quantities are adjusted to fit each of the calorie plans. I am always open to suggestions to cater to dietary needs.   • Do I need to cook food for the exact time given in recipe?
    Cooking times may vary depending on your appliance. The cooking times provided are a guide, but we suggest you use your judgement. For meals with meat, juices must run clear from meat or have an internal temperature of 75 degrees celcius. See MPI Food Safety At Home Guidelines.
  • How many people do the recipes serve?
    Recipes for one for breakfast and lunch which can be easily multiplied should you wish to make for the rest of your family or repeat later in the week. The dinner meal serves 4 so the whole family can support you in your journey.
  • What if I have food allergies?
    Our recipes do not cater to specific allergies. If you have a food allergy, it is up to you to determine whether you are allergic to the ingredients in each recipe, and adjust accordingly.
  • Where do I get the ingredients?
    Our recipes usually use common ingredients found at your local supermarket, grocer, butcher, or farmers market. We don't use specific brands, so you are welcome to purchase your favourites, or the most affordable options for you wherever you chose to shop.
  • Can I access recipes from previous weeks?
    Yes, all recipes are accessible for subscribers. You can also save your favourite recipes from the current weekly meal plan to "My Favourite Recipes", which can be easily accessed when you login to the website and go to your membership settings (when you're a paid member).
  • How can I change my personal details?
    From the Login Bar on the top right of the menu, go to My Subscriptions and click on Account Details.
  • How do I cancel my membership?
    There are no contracts or minimum terms. From the Login Bar on the top right of the menu, go to My Subscriptions and click on Cancel Membership. You will retain access to the recipes for the remaining time left within the period that your monthly membership covers. e.g. if you cancel your subscription just after your monthly recurring payment comes out, you will still have access to the meal plans for a further month.
